Important Security Alert – Virus targeting your email contacts.


Should you receive an email such as the email below from a friend or colleague do not click on any of the links or attachments. You should delete the email immediately. Chances are the senders computer has become infected with a virus that spreads itself by sending malicious emails all their email contacts in their address book.

If your PC becomes infected the virus appears to run in the background as a key logger recording passwords and gaining access to your email accounts (such  as Gmail) and possibly credit card information.


 

 

You may receive an email similar to the example below from a friend or colleague.

How are you recently?
I bought a laptop from a website: e.g.  www.fakewebsitename.com last week. I have
got the product. Its quality is very good and the price is

How do I know if my PC is infected?
The PC may run slower than normal, displaying 16 bit subsystem errors.
You will most likely find out when one of your colleagues or friends contact you about the email you sent them.

Will my Antivirus software detect it?
Not necessary, the virus appears to be relatively new and not being detected by some of the mainstream antivirus programs.
